ReCESD carries out capacity building, interdisciplinary research projects and policy engagement activities. Bringing social and natural scientists together, we work in and across the areas of environment, development and governance. We aim at generating new thinking and practical solutions. Our work looks at how environmental integrity and social justice can be achieve in a dynamic and complex globe that we find ourselves in.
Rapid environmental and social changes such as climate change, population explosion, urbanisation and economic globalisation, are posing urgent practical, moral and political challenges across the globe. Consequently the core development challenges of alleviating poverty and inequity are increasingly complex.
