Sharing Initiatives, Changing Lives; RCESDs Operational Strategy

A strong lady, Marie Curie once said “You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals“. It is probably to this end that the Resource Centre for Environment and sustainable development has taken upon itself to introduce new measures or courses of actions to the local communities that are life changing to the individuals, the communities and future generations, thereby promoting sustainable development.

RCESD is an outstanding organization as it seeks to achieve sustainable development through its three main programs which are capacity building, Development Intervention and Environmental Conservation. These programs are all interlinked as capacities of young professionals are built to carry out research, conceive and implement conservational developmental projects. Research is carried out that can contribute to dynamic solutions to challenges in sustainable development. RCESD also equips and upgrades local people’s capacities to enable them bargain their interests and take up proactive steps that could guarantee sustainable livelihood opportunities.

In an interview with the Head of Department for Environmental Conservation, Mme. Naseli Okha, build the capacity of young citizens, empowering them to understand their roles. We drill them on several aspects of conservation and development, thus contributing greatly towards sustainable development”.

We have it in our power to begin a new world. Promoting environmental awareness and building capacities of local people to successfully integrate economic growth with environmental conservation will participate in providing a better present and a brighter future for us and our children.
